Knights of Columbus #2332 August 2024 Newsletter

Writer: Julie Montoya-HustonJulie Montoya-Huston

Holy Father’s Prayer Intention: We pray that political leaders be at the service of their

own people, working for integral human development and the common good, especially

caring for the poor and those who have lost their jobs.

Chaplain’s Prayer Intention: For the teachers and students of St. Joseph Catholic School as they begin a new school year on August 14.

Next Meeting: Tuesday, August 13 at 7:00pm at The Hall.

Previous Meeting: Newly-elected officers were installed for a 2-year term.

Shalom House: Our next opportunity to serve dinner to the gentlemen of Shalom House is Sunday, August 4. A Sign-Up Genius link is in the email accompanying this newsletter. Thank you to Larry Hoffman for going along to provide fellowship in July.

Bylaws: We have identified the parts of the bylaws that need to be modernized, and our

plan is to meet on the first Tuesday of each month until we have finished drafting the

updated document. Our first session will be Tuesday, August 6 at 7:00pm in The

Clubroom. All members are encouraged to attend and share their ideas.

Picnic: Preparations are underway for our annual picnic at The Park on Saturday, August

24 from 10:00am-7:00pm. It takes a small army to hold this event, so please reach out to

Matt Flickner if you are able to help set up/sell food/clean up/etc.

Meeting Attendance: We currently average about 20 Brothers at each meeting. Let’s

double that by the end of the year! If you haven’t ever (or recently) joined us, please

plan to attend. Your input and participation is vital to the future success of our council.

Horseshoes for Moe: There will be a horseshoe tournament at The Park on Friday, Au-

gust 16 at 6:00pm to benefit the family of our recently deceased brother Tommy “Moe”

Vielhauer, Jr. Contact Chris Meyer to enter your team.

Moonlight Market: Thank you to Keith Bukovaz, Jerry Bumgarner, Brian Dorr, Adam

Lee, Dickie Marx, and Brad Reed for cooking, and selling food and drinks. The fries and

onion rings were a big hit! Moonlight Market happens the third Thursday of each month.

Bring your family and friends in August to enjoy some cheap food!

Upcoming Mass Intentions for Brothers: Moe Vielhauer, 8/9/24 at 6:25am; Bill

Wallisch, 8/13/24 at 6:25am; Dick Sandifer, 12/29/24 at 9:00am.
